Vietnam: Inflation increases in September
Inflation rose to 3.7% in September from August’s 3.0%. September’s result was the highest inflation rate since February. The increase was primarily due to rising price pressures for food and transportation, with the latter linked to the surge in global oil prices recently. Inflation remains comfortably below the government’s 4.5% ceiling however.
Annual average inflation remained at August’s 3.5% in September.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 1.08% from the previous month in September, accelerating from the 0.88% rise logged in August. September’s result was the highest reading since June 2021.
