Vietnam: Inflation declines to lowest level since March in June
Inflation fell to 4.3% in June, down from May’s 4.4%. June’s reading represented the lowest inflation rate since March and remained firmly within the government’s 4.0–4.5% target range. Price pressures for transport slowed, as did those for clothing and footwear, housing and construction materials, and education. Meanwhile, price growth for food and recreation rose from the prior month.
Nevertheless, annual average inflation ticked up to 3.6% in June (May: 3.5%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.17% from the previous month in June, picking up from May’s 0.05% rise. June’s uptick marked the highest reading since February.
