Vietnam: Inflation moderates in July

Consumer prices rose 0.40% from the previous month in July, a smaller increase than the 0.69% rise logged in June. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food rose at a faster pace in July, although prices for transportation dropped after growing in the previous month. Meanwhile, education prices were largely stable.

Inflation came in at 3.1% in July, down from June’s 3.4%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.4% in July (June: 2.3%).
