Vietnam: Merchandise exports growth slows in June
Merchandise exports rose 10.5% on an annual basis in June (May: +13.9% year-on-year). Meanwhile, merchandise imports grew 13.1% in annual terms in June (May: +25.7% yoy).
As a result, the merchandise trade balance improved from the previous month, recording a USD 2.9 billion surplus in June (May 2024: USD 0.5 billion deficit; June 2023: USD 3.3 billion surplus). Lastly, the trend deteriorated, with the 12-month trailing merchandise trade balance recording a USD 26.3 billion surplus in June, compared to the USD 26.6 billion surplus in May.
