Vietnam: Merchandise exports grow at a faster pace in July
Merchandise exports soared 20.2% in annual terms in July (June: +12.4% year on year). July’s figure marked the strongest growth since January. Meanwhile, merchandise imports climbed 25.0% on an annual basis in July (June: +14.3% yoy).
As a result, the merchandise trade balance deteriorated from the previous month, recording a USD 2.4 billion surplus in July (June 2024: USD 3.2 billion surplus; July 2023: USD 3.1 billion surplus). Lastly, the trend pointed down, with the 12-month trailing merchandise trade balance recording a USD 25.8 billion surplus in July, compared to the USD 26.5 billion surplus in June.
