España: Retail sales growth loses pace in April
Retail sales grew 5.0% year on year in April (March: +9.9% yoy). The figure was primarily driven by weaker large chain stores sales. In addition, small chain stores sales lost pace.
On a seasonally and calendar adjusted monthly basis, retail sales rose at a quicker rate of 0.9% in April (March: +0.7% mom). Meanwhile, annual average retail sales growth rose to 2.5% in April (March: +2.4%), which marked an over one-year high.
